About the Position:
- This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team in various psychiatric settings, including adult psychiatry in hospital and community settings, Consultation Liaison psychiatry, Child and Adolescent psychiatry, Old Age psychiatry, Addiction, Rehabilitation, Psychotherapy, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Aboriginal services.
- As a psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a collaborative environment with access to formal education courses.
- You will be working in partnership with a leading research institute offering additional training and research opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients across various psychiatric settings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate patient management.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in consultation with colleagues and patients.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Australian graduates: 2+ postgraduate years as a medical officer in an acute hospital; recent clinical practice preferred.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and ensuring appropriate patient management.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating excellent clinical skills, judgment, commitment to quality, safety, and risk management.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills, with ongoing professional development.
