Global Medics is partnering with the Central Coast Local Health District to recruit a Staff specialist - Consultant in Liaison Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides a comprehensive general adult Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatric service at the hospital and associated facilities
  • Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals, and health service providers including hospital medical staff, general practitioners and other agencies, with regard to the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders.
  • Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with psychiatric registrars and other medical staff as required and appropriate.
Essential Selection Criteria
  • Coming from the UK - Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August 2007 to date following satisfactory completion of a General Medical Council or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom.
  • Other Countries - Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
  • Demonstrated clinical skills and experience working with mental health problems in Adult Mental Health
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary team
