Senior Cloud Network Engineer

We are seeking a talented Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and scaling cloud-based networking components and features.

This includes traffic routing, load balancing, network observability, ingress/egress control, and integration with cloud-native services. You will work with cloud open-source technologies and contribute to the broader cloud ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in languages such as C, C++, Golang, or Rust. Experience in developing cloud-native L3 (network layer) to L7 (application layer) network traffic management techniques is highly desirable.

You will be working closely with various product teams and the community to shape the future of cloud networking. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of open source, cloud platform development, and AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to determine requirements for a set of scenarios.
  • Lead identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Lead by example and mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and patterns to continuously improve availability, reliability, performance, observability, and efficiency of our systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 4+ years backend development experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in development of cloud native L3 (network layer) to L7 (application layer) network traffic management techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud development.
