Cloud Network Engineer Job Description

This role involves designing, implementing and maintaining cloud network infrastructure with a focus on security, scalability and automation. We are looking for an experienced professional with deep networking knowledge combined with modern software development practices.

You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure our network infrastructure meets technical requirements and business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong network engineering fundamentals and experience with cloud-native tools.

  • Design and evolve cloud network architecture strategies across multiple providers
  • Maintain organisational network policies, standards and governance frameworks
  • Implement network security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Establish architectural patterns and reference designs for cloud networking
  • Develop network change management processes
  • Define network monitoring and alerting policies
  • Oversee the implementation of secure connectivity solutions
  • Guide the development of infrastructure as code practices
  • Provide technical direction for network automation and observability initiatives
The Skills You Will Bring To The Team
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering with at least 3 years focused on cloud technologies
  • Deep understanding of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching and network security
  • Strong experience with cloud networking constructs (VPCs, vNETs, Transit Gateways)
  • Extensive experience with layer 4-7 technologies including load balancers and firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Strong understanding of DNS architectures
  • Solid programming skills in at least one language (Python, Bash) for automation
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure deployment
