Senior Fiscal Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fiscal Strategist to join our team in Sydney CBD. As a key member of our Policy and Budget Group, you will provide expert advice on fiscal strategy, budget planning, and government policy matters.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement fiscal strategies to drive public sector performance and maintain strong public finances.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to Treasury leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the preparation and coordination of State Budget papers and related reports.
  • Foster collaboration within Treasury and across government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead teams to deliver high-quality analysis and advice on fiscal strategy and budget planning.
  2. Represent NSW Treasury in forums and committees, advocating for key issues and policies.
  3. Supervise staff and ensure Treasury is sought for trusted advice.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in accounting, finance, economics, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • Proven success in dynamic and innovative settings with experience in financial and economic forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector financial management, economics, or government policy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing multiple stakeholders.
