About the Role

The Financial Director ANZ will lead the finance function across Australia and New Zealand, driving financial excellence and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, internal control, and business partnering activities.

This position reports directly to the Europe & Pacific Developed Markets (EPDM) Financial Controller and will work closely with the Commercial Finance Team and Supply Chain Finance team to understand their reporting outputs and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring adherence to the close calendar and providing timely communication and resolution of issues.
  • Align with the Commercial Finance Team and Supply Chain Finance team to understand their reporting outputs and requirements.
  • Review, analyze, and report on key financial drivers of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, providing valuable financial insights into the region's business and developing strategies to achieve region-targeted goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the review of financial performance and provide relevant input as to the health of the financial statements, contributing to ensuring the region delivers agreed financial commitments.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations related to procure to pay, order to cash, and record to report processes for the region.
  • Facilitate effective communication of regional risk assessment processes related to financial statement assertions, processes, and controls, analyzing, communicating, mitigating, and resolving risks and issues across the region.
  • Drive Balance Sheet reviews and effectively manage balance sheets to ensure integrity, full understanding of assets & liabilities, and provide transparency of accounting records.
  • Responsible for all fiscal reporting requirements, including statutory accounts, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with auditing firms to ensure proper compliance with all internal and external regulations and timely completion of statutory audits, working with the tax function to monitor tax filings in all jurisdictions in the region.
  • Implement internal and financial control, including standardization of policies and procedures, analysis, reporting, etc., performing internal control duties and taking initiatives to improve relevant business processes and enhance internal controls.
  • Responsible for dealing with relevant government authorities from an accounting, statutory audit, and statistics perspective.
  • Work closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to implement and drive ongoing improvements in the business.
About You

We are seeking a qualified accountant with at least 10 years of commercial and financial managerial experience in Big 4 and/or FMCG. The ideal candidate will possess solid working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Tax principles, and Internal Controls, as well as experience with ERP and BI tools.

  • Solid working experience and knowledge of ERP and BI tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to influence senior key regional stakeholders and strong collaborative skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and compelling presentation skills.
  • Team player with exceptional work ethic and positive attitude, acting with a sense of urgency to follow through on both operational and organizational issues.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting/tax regulation.
  • Energetic and driven with pragmatic attitude and high motivation for personal career development.
  • University degree.
  • Manufacturing industry (FMCG is preferred) experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with overseas head office.
