About the Role

The Early Childhood Education Academic Leader is responsible for delivering and continuously improving academic programs in line with ACECQA and TEQSA standards.

They ensure high-quality program delivery while fostering student success and engagement, mentoring academic staff, and promoting best practices in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Program Development: Design, deliver, and maintain engaging, up-to-date course materials and assessments aligned with learning outcomes and academic standards.
  • Teaching and Support: Provide high-quality teaching, timely feedback, and ongoing academic support to students across various delivery modes.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress, identify at-risk students, and implement appropriate support and interventions.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure accurate and timely submission of results and maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Course Quality Contribution: Contribute to course quality through moderation, assessment reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Academic Support Functions: Support broader academic functions including RPL applications, student interviews, and orientation activities.
  • Professional Development: Participate actively in professional development, teaching evaluations, and collaborative academic meetings.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A postgraduate qualification in Early Childhood Education.

- At least two (2) FTE years of relevant industry experience post-qualification, specifically related to Early Childhood Education.

- Willingness to undertake at least 20 hours of continued professional development annually.

- Strong understanding of theory and practice in the relevant discipline.

Desirable Qualifications:

- Completion of, or enrollment in, a PhD program.

- Relevant tertiary teaching experience with demonstrated achievements and results.

- Ability to improve teaching methods and willingness to utilize technology or innovative strategies for teaching, learning, and student engagement.

- Demonstrated teamwork skills and willingness to contribute to professional collaborations and academic administration.
