National Bridge Lead Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our bridge engineering capability across Australia. The successful candidate will provide support to the Regional Director for Highways & Bridges and be responsible for supervising a group of bridge engineers and designers.

About the Job
  • Job Description: Plan, organize, and lead project teams in the delivery, design, and documentation of project requirements;
  • Lead Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations, including variations, claims, and commercial disputes, and ensure fulfilment of contract obligations;
  • Project Management: Project management and technical leadership across various multi-disciplined projects;
  • Business Development: Organise business development and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation;
  • Team Supervision: Monitor output to ensure all group work is completed to a high technical standard, within agreed budgets and timeframes, and in compliance with industry standards;
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain client relationships;
  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop technical staff;
  • Leadership: Provide vision and leadership to team members;
  • Talent Acquisition: Hire and expand the team;
  • Cross-Sector Collaboration: Liaise with other business sector leaders within and outside the organisation; and,
  • Operational Support: Approve employee time, expenses, and other management functions needed for day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in civil engineering;
  • Extensive industry experience as a Bridge Engineer recognised by clients at state level;
  • A track record of delivering complex multidisciplinary projects on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results.
