Job Title

A permanent position is available for a skilled Trade Repair Officer to provide maintenance services to Defence assets. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

This role involves planning and managing maintenance tasks, conducting parts ordering activities, and organising on-site repairs through local maintenance contractors.

The successful applicant will be supported with training and assistance to fill potential gaps in their experiences or current skillset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage maintenance tasks with local providers
  • Conduct parts ordering activities via Defence-mandated IT systems and processes
  • Organise on-site repairs through local maintenance contractors
  • Manage off-site maintenance activities
  • Liaise positively with key Defence equipment and facility stakeholders

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognised Trade Certificate III (Engineering - Mechanical, Vehicle-based or Electronic/Electrical)
  • HR driver's licence (desired but not essential)
  • Forklift licence (desired but not essential)
  • Previous experience in military maintenance environment
  • Open and clear communication ability within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to promote a positive SHEQ culture in the workplace
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility to hold a Defence Security Clearance
