Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned civil structural engineer to take on a senior leadership role within our engineering team. As Principal Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of civil and structural designs for brownfield substation projects.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement comprehensive civil and structural design strategies for complex projects.
  • Provide expert input into project reviews, focusing on constructability, operability, maintainability, and safety (COMS) considerations.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with development projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects, ensuring successful construction and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development of conceptual scopes for civil and structural aspects of large-scale projects.
  2. Analyze and refine scopes, concept designs, and installation scope of works to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  3. Offer strategic guidance on civil and structural designs, leveraging expertise to drive innovation.
  4. Promote process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
  5. Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in civil/structural engineering, driving knowledge sharing and best practices.
Requirements
  • A degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field.
  • Substantial experience as a civil structural engineer, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of electricity networks engineering principles.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and project lifecycle management.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
