About This Opportunity

This is a leadership role that provides operational oversight and management of the Community Care program, including staffing, financial management, rostering, purchasing, record management, and reporting requirements.

  • Provide operational leadership and management to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and work practices to support service excellence
  • Monitor and report on service outputs, standards, compliance, and staff development requirements
  • Lead the Community Care team and engage as an active team member and role model
  • Manage performance and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Ensure health and safety for staff, volunteers, and clients during employment activities
  • Develop and maintain operational service systems and processes to support effective service management

About the Department/Team

The Community Services and Wellbeing department delivers a range of community-based programs and services to Flinders Shire residents. The team works collaboratively with local communities, stakeholders, and other organizations to achieve its vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee operations of Community Care program including staffing, financial management, rostering, purchasing, record management, and reporting requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the Community Care team to ensure best practice is being integrated across services and providing best care solutions to clients
  • Monitor, review, and report on Community Care operational outputs, service standards, compliance with Council policy and procedures, and staff development requirements to Council and funding bodies as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in social work, community services, or a related field
  • Proven experience in community care or a related field, with a focus on leadership and management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and work practices to support service excellence
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and funding agency agreements
