Renewable Energy Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join our team at the SEC, a government-owned renewable energy company. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in leading the development of early-stage renewable energy and storage projects, with a focus on long-duration energy storage (LDES) opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Project Development: Oversee the development process for renewable energy and storage projects, from origination to Final Investment Decision (FID).
- Environmental and Planning Approvals: Secure environmental and planning approvals, balancing project solutions with environmental outcomes.
- Project Management: Manage the overall development program, budget, and resources.
- Feasibility Assessment: Conduct feasibility assessments for new opportunities.
- Partner and Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal project teams and external stakeholders.
- Business Case Development: Develop business cases, including managing key project inputs into financial models.
- Design Management: Manage technology partners, OEM suppliers, EPC contractors, and advisors.
- Best Practice Asset Development: Design projects to meet State policy requirements.
- Qualifications: Qualifications in environment, engineering, planning, or related fields.
- Experience: Experience in environmental impact assessment, with a strong knowledge base across EES, EPBC, CHMP, and planning permit processes.
- Commercial and Entrepreneurial Mindset: A commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, with a detailed understanding of the NEM, market dynamics, and emerging trends.
- Technical Skills: Experience in wind, solar, BESS, and LDES projects.
