Expert Diabetes Care Leader

Key Role Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant in Diabetes is a part-time position responsible for providing expert clinical leadership to the diabetes service at our hospital. This role will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based care practices, promote patient safety, and enhance health outcomes.
About the Position:
- Lead the diabetes service by providing strategic direction and ensuring implementation of best practice care models.
- Contribute to policy development, procedures, and guidelines related to diabetes care.
- Collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and carers to provide expert clinical guidance and support.
- Develop and evaluate care plans to meet the diverse needs of patients with diabetes.
- Work closely with Visiting Medical Officers, Staff Specialists, and Junior Medical Officers to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to drive positive change and improve patient experiences.
Requirements:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification, with a postgraduate degree in the specialty field.
- A minimum of 5 years full-time post-registration experience and at least 3 years' experience in the speciality field.
- Current credentialed Diabetes Educator status.
