Education Partnership Development Officer

**About the Role**
This position plays a vital role in strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander involvement in education by fostering meaningful partnerships and co-designed initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the school community to develop and implement programs that amplify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices in educational decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that reflect community needs and priorities.
- Foster relationships between schools, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and community organizations to support educational outcomes.
- Provide insights on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and advise on effective consultation and decision-making processes.
- Support school leaders and community groups with strategies to enhance participation and access to culturally relevant resources and services.
- Strengthen relationships between schools, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and community organizations to support educational outcomes.
- Actively participate in professional networking and development to enhance cultural capability and community engagement.
Mandatory Requirements
The Department of Education is committed to increasing the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in identified roles. It is a genuine occupational requirement for this role that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.

For administrative purposes, in relation to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role, an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either:
- of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
- accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives.
