Teaching Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our academic team as a lecturer in the field of Human and Community Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students, incorporating research-informed approaches and maintaining a high level of discipline-specific knowledge.

The selected individual is expected to contribute to the development and implementation of student learning programs, associated subject materials, and assessment tasks. They will also participate in ongoing professional development to enhance their teaching methods and practices.

  • Deliver lectures, workshops, and other learning activities that align with approved subject outlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation, including email correspondence and coursework assessments.
  • Collaborate with course coordinators and academic leads to establish a cohesive teaching environment and ensure consistency in resourcing and delivery strategies.
  • Implement support strategies to identify and retain students experiencing difficulties with course content.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate student learning programs and associated subject materials relevant to teaching activity.
  • Contribute to the administration of courses and teaching programs by maintaining class attendance rolls and developing assessment tasks and material.
  • Complete grading and provide academic results in a timely manner.
  • Maintain currency of delivery and assessment material.
  • Coordinate course delivery with colleagues in situations where multiple academics deliver units.
  • Continuously develop innovative teaching methods and practices to create interest, understanding, and enthusiasm among students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a relevant discipline of Human and Community Services, preferably with at least 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Relevant industry experience related to the content area and academic level being taught.
  • Membership in AASW or a recognized professional body.
