About this opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Coordinator to lead our Compliance Officers and Swimming Pool Inspectors in achieving effective and successful outcomes.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive advice on building issues, prepare site inspection reports, and represent the Council in relation to building compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to other service areas of the organization on building-related matters.
  • Prepare high-quality site inspection reports and represent the organization in building compliance matters as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to Councillor requests regarding development issues.
  • Assist in preparing the Divisional Business Plan.
  • Represent the organization at State Administrative Tribunal and WA Magistrate Court hearings when required.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop City Compliance Officers and Swimming Pool Inspectors within the Planning Directorate.
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of Building Services to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent.
  • Building Surveyors Certificate of Registration Level 1 or 2.
  • C Class Drivers Licence.
  • White Card.
  • Proven experience in Building Surveying with Local Government or as a private consultant Building Surveyor.
  • Experience in managing appeals and prosecutions.
  • Proven supervision skills.
