Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Workforce Leadership Specialist to lead and manage a multidiscipline team across all activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting procurement and workforce-related activities and will be required to work collaboratively across the Group and Department with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance for procurement and workforce activities and ensure that these activities are conducted in line with policy, governance, probity, and legislated requirements.
  • Coordinate complex and/or sensitive procurement and workforce activities.
  • Oversee strategic management reporting on the Redress Group's workforce, including preparing complex/sensitive corporate documentation, reports, submissions, and briefs.
  • Actively establish, develop, and manage key stakeholder relationships within and outside the Department.
  • Provide support to the team on administrative, technical, and operational matters, including applying or interpreting legislation, regulations, delegations, or other guidance material.
  • Manage, develop, support, guide, and mentor staff and build team capability.
  • Identify and provide advice and insight on workforce and operational support processes and contribute to the continual development of these processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role along with detailed knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules, financial legislation, standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading workforce activities, including planning, research, implementing, negotiating, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience being proactive and using problem-solving and influencing skills to resolve procurement and workforce issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and be comfortable working in an environment of changing priorities with competing timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing work plans, setting & reviewing performance indicators, identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to think strategically, aligning the team's work with business needs and agency goals and objectives.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Sound understanding (or ability to acquire an understanding) of the following legislation: Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Australian Privacy Principles, Data practices and management.
