SOS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Director/Procurement Specialist to join our client\u2019s team. This is a 6-12 month contract opportunity in Canberra, with a competitive hourly rate of $84.25 plus 11.5% superannuation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director in building and managing an effective team to deliver high-quality, strategic, accurate, and responsive advice and support for procurement and supply chain management.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients and stakeholders to build strong working relationships and achieve successful business and procurement outcomes.
  • Apply procurement and contracting principles, as well as legal interpretation and application, to facilitate workable and defensible solutions for procurement projects.
  • Produce and assure high-quality documentation across the procurement lifecycle, including briefing material, communication artefacts, and status updates.
  • Provide effective supervision and coaching in procurement skills development to assigned procurement officers.
  • Apply project management approaches to enable multiple concurrent projects and/or changing requirements to be effectively managed and delivered within agreed deadlines.
  • Promote the Branch\u2019s objectives and values through direct and indirect activities, such as representation and communication with stakeholders, and the development and delivery of presentations and guidelines.

  • Self-motivation, responsiveness, and initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines to deliver high-quality advice.
