Development Control Planner Opportunity

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Development Control Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental, Planning & Building Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning functions of Council before progressing into the role of Development Control Planner.

The successful candidate will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment in tertiary qualifications leading to a Degree in Town Planning, with tuition costs covered by Council. A current Class C motor vehicle driver's licence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning functions of Council
  • Assessing Development Applications and providing advice to the public on planning related matters

Requirements:

  • Eligible and willing to enrol and undertake tertiary study leading to qualifications as a town planner
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Customer service skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Proficiency in computer packages, including Microsoft office programs and Adobe
