Job Description

The Disability Support Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being, independence, and active participation of individuals with disabilities within their community.

As a Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including their homes and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
  • Facilitate and encourage community participation and integration for clients.
  • Support clients in engaging with recreational, social, and educational activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes, incident reports, and other documentation as required.

You will also be required to communicate effectively with clients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team. Providing regular updates on client progress and addressing any concerns promptly is also an essential part of this role.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a related field.
  • English as first language.
  • Previous experience in disability support work is mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities.
