Lead Clinical Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Lead Clinical Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing junior and senior medical workforce in a rural regional environment.

The role will involve providing leadership support to the Director of Medical Services, implementing and maintaining continuous quality improvement management strategies, and contributing to the implementation of clinical governance and clinical risk management principles.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of contemporary health service issues and be able to effectively manage resources to address these issues. They will also possess strong communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Director of Medical Services through deputising as directed, providing support to the clinical divisions to maintain service provision.
  • Providing a leadership role to medical staff at the rural hospitals in support of the Director of Medical Services and the Executive Officer of each hospital to mitigate issues and acting as a role model of professional standards.
  • Contributing to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of medical services at all facilities, including but not limited to: Clinical Governance and Clinical Risk Management; Morbidity & Mortality Review; Sentinel Incident Review; collection, review and action on Hospital-wide and specific clinical indicators; EQUIP and HETI accreditation processes to assist in meeting professional, NSW Health and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) standards, policies and guidelines and to meet compliance with reporting.
