Looking for a career in maintenance and assembly?

We are seeking an energetic individual who takes pride in their work and area, possesses excellent communication skills, and is a team player to join our engineering workshop in Bassendean. As a trade assistant, you will be responsible for performing various tasks such as maintenance, cleaning, assembling and dismantling items, examining parts for cleanliness and previous inspection clearances, completing paperwork, and maintaining good housekeeping practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and seek assistance from the maintenance department when necessary;
  • Ensure job cards are signed off upon completion by yourself and your supervisor;
  • Clean and prepare working surfaces;
  • Position items in machines;
  • Assemble and dismantle items as needed for the process;
  • Examine parts for cleanliness and previous inspection clearances;
  • Complete relevant paperwork for each item being heat treated;
  • Maintain good housekeeping and practice 5S in the department;
  • Conduct regular inspections of jigs and fixtures.
Requirements:
  • Be highly motivated and committed to delivering results;

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures;

  • Contribute to a culture that values continuous improvement and teamwork;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role or industry;

  • Forklift ticket and experience are highly desirable;

  • Good practical skills and attention to detail;

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and use technical equipment;

  • Awareness of quality standards and processes;

  • Good numeracy and computer skills.
