About Miwatj Health
Miwatj Health is a self-governing Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service, established in 1992. Our mission is to provide quality healthcare services throughout East Arnhem, empowering Yolŋu communities in health and wellbeing. We offer culturally sensitive, comprehensive primary healthcare to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across three East Arnhem wards. With our Head Office located in Nhulunbuy, we also operate a Corporate Office in Darwin, manage seven fixed clinics in the East Arnhem region, and have dedicated outreach teams serving three additional locations.

Role Overview
The Clinical Team Leader plays a pivotal role in guiding a multi-disciplinary team at the Millingimbi primary healthcare clinic. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of service delivery. Collaborating closely with the Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner Co-team lead, this position aims to enhance a collaborative and culturally attuned co-leadership model that fosters support and mutual mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Team Leader will:

  • Provide high-level guidance and leadership.
  • Ensure an integrated approach to delivering comprehensive Primary Health Care across all service points.

Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Remote Area Nurse.
  • Current registration with APHRA.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination.
  • Insight into the challenges faced by Yolŋu individuals in remote areas.
