Job Overview:

This position requires a skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician to carry out various tasks at a wind farm site.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines. This includes performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on turbine components.

Additionally, the successful applicant will ensure proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle. They will also diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, perform maintenance on turbine blades, gearboxes, generators, and other key systems.

As part of this role, you will document all work completed and maintain detailed records of turbine performance. You will adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and provide technical support and mentoring to less experienced team members as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Carry out inspections, repairs, and replacements of faulty or damaged wind turbine components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on wind turbines and related equipment.
  • Document and record all work completed, including maintenance activities, repairs, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and improve overall team performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hold an Australian Certified Electrical Trade qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, preferably in a FIFO/DIDO role.
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in remote locations.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules to meet the needs of the business.
