About the Role


As a key member of Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia's team, you will play a critical role in managing all aspects of our supply chain operations. With a focus on procurement, purchasing, inventory control, distribution, and export controls, this position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.


Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee and manage SEDA's supply chain operations to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to customers
  • Develop and implement supply chain functions to meet business targets and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Perform regular supply risk audits and monitor local supplier performance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Foster strong relationships with local suppliers to drive collaboration and innovation in the supply chain
  • Oversee logistics and supply support planning to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services
  • Manage Export Controls compliance activities related to US Regulations (ITAR and EAR) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of Export Controls Permit registers and applications
  • Assist in developing Australian Industry Capability (AIC) plans and reporting to promote local supply chain development
  • Support the development and maintenance of Intellectual Property management processes
  • Conduct periodic supply chain audits and analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Lead people management activities within the department, including recruitment, performance management, professional development, and employee support

Qualifications and Experience


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • Tertiary qualifications in business management or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain management, with a strong background in export controls and logistics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound working knowledge of ERP systems and quality standards such as AS/NZS 9001, AS/NZS 9110, and AS/NZS 14001
  • The ability to comprehend complex legal documents and regulations

Personal Requirements


In addition to the above qualifications and experience, you will need to possess:



  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence security clearance and Foreign Worker Authorisation
  • Established good working relationships with ADF organizations or local industries
  • Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive, autonomous, and rigorous approach to work
  • Interest in advanced technologies and a strong work ethic

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including:
