About the Role

Berry Street is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the Lead Tenant position. As a Lead Tenant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people living in out of home care in the Northern Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the household, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for young people.
  • Act as a positive role model, providing guidance and support to young people in developing independent living skills.
  • Foster mutually supportive relationships between yourself and the young people in the household, as well as with the Berry Street case manager.
  • Demonstrate and educate young people on basic housekeeping, cooking, nutrition, and budget management.
  • Participate in meetings, discussions, and planning to address the needs of the young people.
  • Invest time and emotional energy to develop a relationship with a young person, providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • Communicate effectively in a range of settings, including resolving minor disputes.
  • Undertake training to further build your capacity to effectively support young people.
  • Provide feedback and updates to case managers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
