HVAC Controls Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Controls Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and commissioning of building automation systems utilizing your knowledge of direct digital controls (DDC), airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, and applied control strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the relevant industry, with a strong understanding of HSE industry requirements and applied knowledge of BMS engineering principles and energy conservation measures.

  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, quoting remedial works, and ongoing planned maintenance.

  • As a representative of the company, you will be the direct customer contact and responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned tasks, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, quoting, repairing equipment and systems at customers' locations.

  • You will coordinate with the team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site repairs by examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work within a team environment.

  • Additionally, you will maintain current knowledge of Trane and Trend products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.

  • Furthermore, you will continually enforce safety to the highest corporate and legislative standards.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in the relevant industry.

  • Great interpersonal, written & oral communication skills.

  • Current QLD driver's license.

  • Construction Induction Card.

  • Trade Qualified in a relevant trade.

  • Thorough understanding of HSE industry requirements.

  • Aplied knowledge of BMS engineering principles and energy conservation measures.

  • Hands-on experience in building management systems.

  • Experience working on small service projects.

  • Technical knowledge in HVAC and Central Plant or Energy Solutions environment.

  • High level of technical competency in BMS and related control products/devices (Ideally Tridium / Trend / Tracer).
