Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Finance Director to join our team. As a key member of our project finance team, you will play a crucial role in securing and closing project finance origination activities for new and existing clients.

You will work closely with Sector Leads to arrange and execute project financing transactions, including hedging, loan syndication, FX, bonding, and advisory services.

Your expertise will be essential in driving MUFG's Originate to Distribute strategy in conjunction with DCM.

You will evaluate and ensure compliance of new transactions with MUFG's credit and other policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Sector Leads to arrange and execute project financing transactions, including hedging, loan syndication, FX, bonding, and advisory services.
  • Drive MUFG's Originate to Distribute strategy in conjunction with DCM.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance of new transactions with MUFG's credit and other policies.
  • Manage all credit matters, including credit papers, modeling, negotiation, documentation, due diligence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Negotiate and document terms and conditions of credit, security, and other documents.
  • Oversee efficient handovers of closed project transactions to Project Finance Portfolio Management.
  • Maintain positive relationships with project sponsors, borrowers, advisors, legal counsel, fund managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote alliances with MUFG group companies in the project finance market.
  • Enhance MUFG's profile in the project finance market.
  • Provide leadership to junior staff and assist with general administration matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 8+ years' experience in banking and finance, including project finance knowledge.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance or related field.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in project management, credit analysis, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership experience providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team.
  • MS Office experience with key capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
