We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Newcastle Water Team and contribute to building resiliency in the water industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading water resources assessments integrating water balance, water quality, flooding, and drainage aspects for traditional energy and resources projects and emerging asset transition applications.
  • Being part of a team that includes leading practitioners in the NSW industry.
  • Providing creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities.
  • Supporting the management of a variety of multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the environmental issues with relation to the management of surface water, particularly for energy and resource clients.
  • Coordinate and review hydrology and hydraulic modelling to inform planning studies through to detailed design of new infrastructure.
  • Advanced analytical and spreadsheet abilities. Intermediate GIS capability preferred.
  • Candidates with site or construction-based experience looking to apply practical knowledge to complex assessments and design are encouraged.
  • Appreciation for CAD (e.g. 12D, Civil3D, AutoCAD) is vital for coordination of design and drafting team members.
  • Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget.
  • A business and relationship development attitude to enhance our client portfolio and project delivery.
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
  • An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities.
  • Project management skills of water resources projects, including preparation and review of fee proposals, management of resources, budget, risks, and health and safety.
  • Bachelor of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
