About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shaft Superintendent to join our team at Webuild S.p.A. for the Snowy 2.0 project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise, lead and control site operations to ensure compliance with the construction programme.
  • Provide consistency in terms of safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, and community targets.
  • Supervise team members and work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards.
  • Lead and manage teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor construction progress versus forecasts and advise the Construction Manager of any deviations or variances.
  • Identify and resolve any IR/ER issues and escalate serious issues to the Construction Manager and IR Manager in a timely and appropriate manner.
Requirements
  • Trade or qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering.
  • White Card.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects.
  • A minimum of years of specific experience working as Equipment and Plant Manager in a tunnel project.
Competencies
  • Ability to supervise team members and work closely with safety and other departments.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials and services.
  • Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations.
  • Process-oriented, able to analyse complex issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritise tasks under pressure.
  • Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative and proactive nature.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in remote and challenging areas with extreme cold temperatures.
