Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices, payments, staff reimbursements, and expense claims to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, monitor receivables, and liaise with the debtor finance provider to optimize cash flow and minimize outstanding debts.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant awards and legislation to maintain a positive employee experience.
  • Support preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholdings, superannuation, and other compliance obligations to maintain regulatory adherence.
  • Perform reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet items to ensure accuracy and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare cash flow forecasts to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Provide timely data and insights to support the Finance Manager with reporting to drive business performance.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and staff to resolve finance-related queries efficiently.
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance officer or similar transactional finance role is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations is required.
  • Familiarity with compliance obligations, including BAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation, is necessary.
  • Proficiency in financial and payroll systems, with strong Excel skills, is expected.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively are crucial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, are required to succeed in this role.
