We are seeking a highly skilled Land Consents Manager to join our Engineering Design & Consents Team within Large Capital Delivery (LCD). This team is responsible for managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of capital projects, including customer connections work, developing designs and consenting them through the design phase towards installation by our contractors.
As a key stakeholder, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and sustainably. Your expertise will be crucial in devising land consents strategies, managing asset risk, and negotiating agreements with landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, and national agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement land consents strategies to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and sustainably.
- Manage the preparation, negotiation, and successful acquisition of wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements, and access permissions across a portfolio of Large Capital Delivery projects.
- Assess, negotiate, and successfully settle related agreements, including compensation claims throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant consents and experience in securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects, with a good understanding of associated environmental legislation.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience working within a rural or land management setting, or utilizing and working with land agents as a contractor.
- Experience of working with and getting agreement from key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, and national agencies.
- A full, current driving license.
