Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the recruitment and employment of individuals with disabilities into our National Contact Centre
- Assist with assessing the skills and needs of individuals with disabilities to determine suitable employment opportunities
- Collaborate with Job Access Providers and Disability Employment Service Providers to identify and recruit suitable candidates
- Support and facilitate reasonable modifications to recruitment processes, including applicant screening, assessment, and interviews
- Coach and support individuals with disabilities and leaders in managing and leading diverse teams
- Develop and deliver diversity awareness and inclusion training, challenging myths, stereotypes, and biases
- Work with leaders to identify and implement reasonable workplace accommodations for individuals with disabilities
- Develop and deliver initiatives and programs that promote inclusion and engagement across the organization
- Advocate for the rights and needs of under-represented groups, working to eliminate barriers to employment and promote equal opportunity
- Monitor and track employment participation rates of individuals with disabilities, using data and feedback to improve DE&I initiatives
About You
You are a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of disability impacts and accommodations. Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills are key to your approach, enabling you to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders. You are proactive and skilled in developing and implementing DE&I initiatives, with a collaborative mindset to work with various teams and external partners.
Your Ideal Skills & Experience
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A passion for serving the community and working with people with additional needs
- Experience in implementing successful practices and initiatives which support the successful employment of people with disabilities
- Awareness of community outreach services, vocational rehabilitation programs, and disability employment services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Empathy, patience, and sensitivity in working with diverse individuals
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships
- Experience in job design, placement, or vocational assessment will be highly regarded
- Exposure to a contact centre or service-based industry is advantageous
