Job Description
: As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Bechtel, you will play a key role in leading electrical design teams and working on global EPC and EPCM projects. Your responsibilities will include evaluating, selecting, and applying standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria; designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity; preparing or assisting in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals; and coordinating electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, contractors, construction, and other functional groups. You will also provide guidance to other electrical engineering personnel, technical assistance to other electrical personnel, and interact with project functions, customers, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues. Additionally, you will assist project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and addressing issues as they arise during project execution. Your expertise will also be utilized to mentor and assist more junior electrical team members, complete electrical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance, and select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.Required Skills and Qualifications
: To be successful in this role, you will require a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. You should have relevant work experience in FEED, proposal & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC/EPCM industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil, and gas plants. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the electrical engineering discipline is essential. Experience in design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, or process plants is desirable. You should also have knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods, precedents in the electrical discipline, and principles and practices of inter-related disciplines. Furthermore, you should possess knowledge of related construction practices and the associated costs, application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project, and knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline.
