Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house Legal team in Melbourne, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading front-end activities, providing expertise for bids and tenders, and supporting legal issues arising with customers, partners, and subcontractors across Alstom's portfolio of major transport and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents with an acceptable level of risk.
  • Act as the lead Legal Advisor for a diverse range of major infrastructure projects.
  • Provide expert legal advice to a broad range of stakeholders on all matters of construction and contract law.
  • Support the business in the review and submission of contracts and tender documentation.
  • Assist the legal function with general legal counsel matters and corporate governance.
Requirements
  • Completed a Bachelor of Laws, along with a current Australian legal practicing certificate.
  • Sound understanding of public tenders and Public Private Partnership (PPP) agreements is desired.
  • Experienced Senior Legal Professional who enjoys providing legal expertise in the tender/bid phase of complex major projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen coupled with great interpersonal skills, communication, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience as a Lawyer, either in-house or private practice within the infrastructure, engineering, or construction sector.
