The Opportunity
We are seeking a Transport Supervisor to join our team at Minchinbury, NSW, as we expand our Grocery division. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating grocery deliveries across the Sydney basin, ensuring that Toll drivers and operations staff surpass standards and KPIs.
This role offers a flexible rotating roster - 4 on and 4 off - working the PM Shift - 4:00pm - 04:00am.
The Transport Supervisor will ensure that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed standards in operational procedures, including strong emphasis on safety requirements, regular communication with drivers and stakeholders, compliance, and managing staff to ensure business objectives are achieved in a safe and cost-effective way.
A Day in the Life of a Transport Supervisor at Toll Transport Pty Ltd:
- Plan and manage labour resources to meet day-to-day service level targets and exceed customer expectations.
- Coordinate the dispatch of trucks, drivers, and shipments to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
- Champion safety and ensure all drivers and operational staff follow OHS and site safety requirements.
- Promote a customer-first mindset and ensure the daily operation is maximising profitability by linking management goals with practical means of achievement.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Address any issues or delays promptly to minimise disruptions.
- Ensure services are monitored for on-time delivery, and proactively collaborate with the customer to meet targeted delivery windows.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Previous experience within a similar role within the Transport/Logistics industry.
- A positive attitude and appetite to learn.
- Demonstrated experience with Operations, CoR, Fatigue Management desirable but not essential.
- An analytical mind-set - strong ability to problem solve.
- Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal.
- Computer literacy skills - MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines within a time-pressured environment.
