Key Defence Design Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced Defence Design Management Professional to lead the delivery of design solutions across Defence Estate and Infrastructure projects.

  • Develop, implement, and manage Design Management Plans that align with Defence's design requirements and standards.
  • Ensure the overall design intent and direction is upheld throughout the planning and delivery phases.
  • Provide technical coordination and guidance to multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Build relationships internally and externally to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the development of design deliverables that meet both end user and functional requirements.
  2. Implement and manage Quality Assurance processes to ensure high-quality design outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve design-related issues and ensure timely project completion.
  4. Develop and maintain expertise in Defence's design approaches and standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams, preferably in the Defence sector.
  • Australian Government Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher (or ability to obtain) for Australian Citizenship holders.
  • Strong understanding of Defence's design requirements and standards, with a desire to progress professionally in this field.
