Job Description:

As a General Maintenance Assistant, you will work alongside team leaders to assist supported employees in carrying out cleaning and general maintenance tasks at various commercial sites.

The role involves performing manual tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, bathroom and toilet maintenance, mopping, dusting, laundry, and washing walls and windows. You may also be required to perform light domestic duties and undertake tasks assigned by team leaders and supervisors.

You will play a vital role in maintaining positive team relationships that reflect Aruma's core values and supporting employees to develop new skills and achieve employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. General Cleaning Tasks:
  2. Perform manual cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms and toilets.
  3. Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers.
  4. Maintenance of Sites:
  5. Conduct routine checks on equipment and report any issues to team leaders or supervisors.
  6. Undertake basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
  7. Teamwork and Communication:
  8. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.
  9. Communicate effectively with team leaders and supervisors regarding job requirements and progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Physical Fitness: A high level of physical fitness is essential to meet the demands of the role, which includes manual handling and working in various environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with team members, leaders, and clients.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of WHS requirements and ability to operate equipment safely.
  • Transportation: A valid driver's license is required.
  • Police Check: Willingness to undergo a Police Check.
  • NDIS Check: Hold a current NDIS Check or be willing to obtain one.
