Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). The successful candidate will conduct research at the forefront of solar wind plasma and turbulence using data from current and previous spacecraft, theory, and numerical simulations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in space plasma physics, focusing on solar wind plasma and turbulence.
  • Collaborate with our team to analyze data from spacecraft, develop theoretical models, and perform numerical simulations.
  • Participate in the development of research proposals to secure extramural funding.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific documents for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing and collaboration with colleagues within the department and across the university.
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
  • Research experience in spacecraft data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of plasma theory and numerical simulations.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or IDL programming languages.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
