Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a remote basis. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual, company, partnership, and trust financial statements & tax returns from start to finish.
  • Build relationships with business owners across various industries.
  • Train junior accountants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Handle tax matters including Division 7A, CGT, and trust distributions.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in working in a public practice firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
  • Proficiency in FYI docs desired, but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • The ability to manage your own workflow.
