Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Civil Design Lead to oversee the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Perth Airport.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking charge of project design and documentation, including airfield pavements, roadworks, car parks, and landside developments.
  • Leading every phase of the project journey, ensuring technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to create smart, sustainable solutions.
  • Managing design contracts, reviewing technical outputs, coordinating regulatory inputs, driving continuous improvement, advocating for safety in design, overseeing risk controls, and supporting smooth project handovers into construction.


Requirements:
  • A degree in civil engineering, design, or project management, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • A strong background in leading design phases for infrastructure projects, with a knack for balancing cost, timelines, and risk.
  • Confidence in steering multi-disciplinary teams and integrating stakeholder needs into practical design outcomes.
  • A solid grasp of design workflows and the agility to adapt to shifting project demands.
  • Sound knowledge of civil engineering principles, especially in roadworks, earthworks, drainage, services, and airfield pavements.
  • Experience sourcing and managing external consultants across engineering, costing, and design.
  • Competent in using tools like Aconex, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office to keep projects on track.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling platforms such as Revit, MicroStation, Navisworks, or Tekla.
  • A collaborative, detail-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
