Lead Front-end Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned front-end engineer to lead our team of engineers. As the Lead Front-end Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding your team through mentorship, task planning, and technical oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a pod of Engineers: Guide a team of up to four front-end engineers through mentorship, task planning, and technical oversight.
  • Deliver AI-powered creative tools: Develop innovative features and experiences that leverage real-time canvas editing and next-gen video workflows.
  • Own technical architecture: Drive front-end architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and long-term performance.
  • Work closely with product and design: Collaborate daily with designers, PMs, and ML engineers to deliver polished, intuitive, and powerful features that meet user needs.
  • Write clean, scalable front-end code: Remain hands-on in writing high-quality React and Next.js code using TypeScript and GraphQL, continually optimising for performance, accessibility, and long-term stability.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers in fast-paced teams.
  • Strong ability to deliver production-ready front-end applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of React and Next.js (especially App Router and rendering patterns).
  • Proficiency with TypeScript and GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience collaborating closely with designers and PMs.
  • Track record of building user-facing products with performance in mind.
