Job Overview

The role of a Tyre Sales Assistant is critical in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Locate and inspect member vehicles for body damage before the service order is completed.
  • Drive the member vehicle into the install bay, secure it with the hydraulic hoist, and apply the brake.
  • Remove the wheel using an impact gun while adhering to safety procedures and roll the wheel to the mounting machine.
  • Attach a new valve stem, mount a new tyre on the wheel, and ensure the tyre is inflated to the recommended air pressure.
  • Operate the automatic balance machine to determine the proper weight and placement for balanced wheels.
  • Apply lead weights to the rims using a hammer.
  • Reattach the wheels to the vehicle using an impact gun and hand torque wrench according to established procedures.
  • Notify the supervisor or manager to complete the 9-point check and authorise the vehicle release.
  • Park the member vehicle, return the invoice and keys to the sales desk, and perform a second torque check after the manager verifies tyres installed by others.
  • Repair flat tyres for members, maintain a clean install area through sweeping, mopping, and spraying, and assist with sales and stocking tyres in accordance with the merchandising plan.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, participate in monthly stocktake (inventory), and hold a manual open driver's license.
