About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our Gaming and Toys team, responsible for building and trading a department range/business group that delivers the strategy, vision and financial KPI's.


As the Gaming and Toys Buyer, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to build assortment plans to drive sales and profitability, in line with Target's values.


Key Responsibilities



  • Build Assortment Plans
  • Work with External Stakeholders
  • Develop Department Strategy
  • Own and Deliver Product Range
  • Manage and Coach Buyer Assistants
  • Manage Department Marketing
  • Identify Opportunities and Implement Actions
  • Leverage Customer Insights and Data

What We're Looking For


The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Retail with at least 4 years' experience in Buying / Design / Product Development in a specialty retail environment. Demonstrated ability to lead a supplier and sourcing strategy is essential as is experience in implementing merchandise strategy and trading business within season.
