About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Buyer to join our Gaming and Toys team as a Category Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to build and trade a department range/business group that delivers the strategy, vision, and financial KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement assortment plans to drive sales and profitability.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to build assortment plans that meet business objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end critical path to ensure launch dates are met.
  • Manage, coach, develop, and support buyers' assistants and support staff.
  • Manage department marketing critical path, ensuring all cross-functional stakeholders are kept informed in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities and implement actions derived through trade analysis.
  • Leverage customer insights and data to optimize sales.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, or Retail.
  • At least 4 years' experience in Buying/Design/Product Development in a specialty retail environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a supplier and sourcing strategy.
  • Experience in implementing merchandise strategy and trading business within season.
  • Solid understanding of the total retail landscape.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
