Data Steward

Are you an expert in data quality and assurance? Do you have a passion for supporting the execution of strategic initiatives? We are seeking a Data Steward to join our team and play a critical role in bringing our Critical Data Asset cycle to life.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with your manager to design and build data quality controls, partner with business stakeholders to quality assure assets, and support them in managing their data effectively and with confidence.

You will be working on various tasks, sometimes with ambiguity, and must be able to manage multiple priorities. Your intermediate understanding of the data quality lifecycle and basic data discovery and profiling skills will be essential in this role.

We are looking for someone with 1-3 years of commercial experience in a similar data steward/data analyst role, exposure to data quality initiatives, and experience interacting with operational/frontline/technical teams. Intermediate Excel/SQL and Power BI skills (or equivalent toolsets) are also required.

What You Will Need:
  • Commercial experience in data steward/data analyst role
  • Intermediate Excel/SQL and Power BI skills
  • Experience working with data quality/governance tools
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business, finance, IT, or information management
  • Awareness of Australian financial industry regulation and legislation relating to data, privacy and risk
  • Awareness of data management and data governance frameworks and standards
