Job Title: Quarry Site Production Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Operator to join our team at a quarry site in Booyal, Bundaberg. As a Quarry Operator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the extraction of materials from the quarry site.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
    • Coordinate and supervise all quarry activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and crushing operations.
    • Monitor production levels and adjust processes as needed to meet production targets and quality standards.
    • Schedule and prioritize tasks to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
    • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe operation.
  2. Safety and Environmental Compliance:
    • Enforce safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all quarry personnel.
    • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
    • Implement environmental management practices to minimize the impact of quarry operations on the surrounding ecosystem.
    • Monitor and report any incidents or potential hazards to management and regulatory authorities as required.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure that extracted materials meet customer specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular testing and analysis of materials to assess their quality and suitability for use.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any issues or concerns related to product quality.
  4. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of quarry equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and heavy machinery.
    • Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
  5. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure adequate supply for production needs.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and transportation providers to optimize inventory levels and delivery schedules.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while additional education or training in mining or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in quarry operations or a similar heavy industry environment is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of mining regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards is necessary.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining quarry equipment and machinery is required.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams is vital.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities are necessary to navigate complex quarry operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work conditions is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions is essential.
  • The stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and climbing, is required.
  • Comfort working in a noisy and dusty environment is necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo regular medical examinations and drug screenings as required by company policy and regulatory agencies is required.

Salary: The salary for this role is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
