About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insolvency Data Analyst to join our team at ASIC.

Job Description:

  • Assess RL renewals, suspension, and cancellation requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on RL queries and requests for assistance regarding RL processes, lodgements, and issues in external administrations.
  • Analyse and interpret data from various sources, including structured and unstructured data received by ASIC.
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve insolvency data analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders through reports, presentations, and briefings.
  • Conduct thematic surveillances of RLs and identify compliance concerns, engaging with ASIC enforcement as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop regulatory responses to emerging issues in the sector.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Data Analysis, or Law.
  • Professional accounting qualifications (CA ANZ, CPA, or IPA) or experience in a regulatory environment is highly desirable.
  • Relevant practical experience in external administration, investigations, and reporting gained at an accounting/insolvency firm is advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships and networks.
  • Experience assessing, challenging, and authenticating complex information, making sound judgements, and developing strategic relationships.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical, investigative, and research skills, including data analysis and presentation.
  • Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw reasoned influences from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Able to think critically and solve problems, with strong business acumen.

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
