Job Description

Role Summary:

The Director of Engineering at Pullman Cairns International is responsible for leading the Engineering team to ensure smooth operations and maintain the high standards that provide exceptional experiences for both guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of building maintenance, including planned preventive measures and emergency repairs, to ensure the property remains in pristine condition.
  • Manage utility consumption, enhance energy and water efficiency, and maintain compliance with Australian Standards and safety regulations.
  • Lead the effective management of outsourced services, adherence to contracts, and sustainability programs.
  • Manage CAPEX projects and assist in controlling expenditure.
  • Select suppliers, track project completion, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Drive efficiency, maintain high standards, and ensure every detail contributes to an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry.
  • Relevant trade qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical services are advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fire safety systems and protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Exceptional communicator with experience managing maintenance functions in large-scale operations.
  • Ability to perform emergency maintenance outside regular working hours.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, financial reporting, and inventory management.
