Job Title: Elite Mare Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to support the care and management of our elite broodmare band. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership career within a well-resourced, supportive, and fast-paced breeding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage farm operations including mare, foal, and weanling care.
  • Monitor mares and foals' general health and wellbeing in collaboration with staff.
  • Assist with mare and foal injuries, illness, and limb deformities.
  • Coordinate veterinary work, farrier, branding, handling, and dentist procedures.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, bandages, and drenches under veterinarian guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments, procedures, vetting, farrier work, and movements.
  • Induct and train new staff members if required.
  • Ensure high standards of biosecurity, hygiene, and safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments for smooth daily operations.
  • Lead operations in the absence of senior management.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in thoroughbred breeding environments.
  • Excellent horsemanship skills.
  • Strong understanding of equine reproduction, mare, and foal care.
  • Effective communication, attention to detail, and staff management skills.
  • A clean driver's license and eligibility to work in Australia.
